Unwinding at the Kanaloa Parque Acuatico Outside Medellín

Unwinding at the Kanaloa Parque Acuatico Outside Medellín

TLDR? Kanaloa Parque Acuatico is one of the best water parks just outside of Medellin.

It’s summer in Medellin, and you’re looking for the best way to unwind and have fun. You’re in luck! My Colombian friend recommended Kanaloa Parque Acuatico, and I’m really glad she did.

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico is a water park like no other. It’s outside Medellin, but the trip to this fantastic park is undoubtedly one for the books! And, you can bring your kids because it’s family-friendly.

In this guide, I’ll share all about my experience in Kanaloa Parque Acuatico. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy reading about my water park adventure!

Getting to Kanaloa Parque Acuatico

Getting to Kanaloa Parque Acuatico

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico is located in Santa Fe de Antioquia. It’s outside Medellin, but it’s a great hangout place with your kids.

I rented a car, so I drove to Kanaloa Parque Acuatico together with my wife and two kids. The ride was quite long. It took us an hour and twenty minutes to get there.

I’m not quite sure whether riding public transportation is a great idea. But if you’re driving, I recommend leaving early to avoid traffic.

Driving to the water park will only take ten minutes if you’re from the town proper of Santa Fe. Kanaloa Parque Acuatico has a convenient location. You can find nearby restaurants famous in Santa Fe and other tourist attractions you can check out.

About Kanaloa Parque Acuatico

About Kanaloa Parque Acuatico

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico is a top recommended tourist attraction in Santa Fe de Antioquia. It’s an outdoor water park packed with fun activities you can try with your kids.

Experience different swimming pools, water slides, and even a lazy river inside this park! And if your kids get hungry after having fun, Kanaloa Parque Acuatico has eight restaurants inside. These restaurants have various cuisines, perfect for kids and families.

Aside from the pool and water attractions, Kanaloa Parque Acuatico also has a mini zoo. You can visit with your kids for some educational entertainment.

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, except on Mondays. Mondays are reserved for disinfection and maintenance.

One minor downside of this water park is that you cannot bring outside food and drinks. I personally did not favor this rule because my kids have food preferences. But it’s fine. The restaurants had various choices, so they still enjoyed it.

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico has different rates on weekdays and weekends. It’s 25,000 COP on weekdays and 35,000 COP on weekends and holidays. The rate is already inclusive of seven water attractions.

For children below three years old, admission is free. Don’t forget to bring your own swim caps and other wet gear. Renting swim caps will cost you an additional 4,000 COP.

But, if you’re staying at Las Ardillas Hotel or Las Iguanas Hotel, the entrance to the park is free!

If you’re visiting this park, I recommend going there on weekdays. There are fewer people, so the pools are not as crowded.

The Attractions

Kanaloa Parque Acuatico has seven pool attractions. Aside from that, you can also tour your kids around the mini zoo

Lagoguana

Lagoguana

Lagoguana is a giant calm pool with a giant iguana in the middle. It also comes with slides your kids can enjoy. It has a maximum capacity of 250 people with a depth of 0.80 meters.

The giant iguana is made of concrete, grain, and steel. It’s 7.80 meters high and 52.05 meters long.

Ardiluvio

Ardiluvio

If your kids are looking for some adventure, try Ardiluvio. My family enjoyed the vast amounts of water falling from the giant squirrel!

Ardiluvio consists of an enormous squirrel in the middle. It has a maximum capacity of 40 people and is 0.30 meters deep. The squirrel is 11.70 meters high and 21.40 meters wide.

And if you’re wondering how much water falls, it reaches around 500 liters of water per minute!

Aquakonda

Aquakonda

For younger kids, try Aquakonda. It’s a more relaxing experience compared to Ardiluvio. The pool can accompany more people, around 100.

A giant snake in the middle emits fun water jets for kids to enjoy.

Tobotuga

Tobotuga

Tobotuga is another adventurous water attraction. It comes with a giant turtle in the middle with a slide at its end. This attraction is perfect for kids and even adults! The entire pool can hold 80 people.

Rokaudal

Rokaudal

Another relaxing water attraction is Rokaudal. It’s a lazy river ride, similar to River Cauca. My family enjoyed our time in this lazy river because we had the chance to chill and enjoy the cool water.

Rokaudal can hold up to 60 people and is 0.80 meters deep. I was even more amazed to see seniors joining in the fun and riding floaters along Rokaudal!

Burbuga

Burbuga

I think this attraction is the most thrilling. It comes with a giant tall slide that’s 40 meters long. And heads up, the slide can only accommodate one person at a time. So I don’t recommend this when you have kids below three years old.

But trust me, Burbuga is my favorite attraction! I enjoyed the adrenaline of climbing up to the slide and letting gravity take over while sliding all the way down.

Pool Kanaloa

Pool Kanaloa

Finally, experience a relaxing water attraction in Pool Kanaloa. It’s the perfect swimming pool when you simply want to admire the beautiful landscapes of the water park. It’s peaceful, serene, and everything is good.
