In life, some things are unavoidable necessities, and laundry is one of them.
When arriving in a new city, finding somewhere to wash your clothes can be a bit tricky at first. It’s a tedious but crucial logistical detail that may have been overlooked in your travel planning.
But not to worry, I’ve got you covered. Medellin has many places where you can get your clothes clean and fresh, and I’m going to tell you where!
Hostels and Hotels
The most convenient option may be right under your nose. Some Hostels and hotels throughout the city offer laundry and dry cleaning services. This is the most affordable option for many travelers, as the services are usually quite cheap.
However, in my experience, hostels tend to just throw all the clothes in one wash without separating the colors. This technique has ruined some of my clothes on a few occasions, so proceed with caution!
The fancier hotels may offer a quality dry cleaning service, whereas it’s common for Airbnbs to have a laundry delivery service. However, this would come at an extra cost.
Reach out to your accommodation and find out if they provide any of these services, as it may be the easier route to take.
Self Service Laundromats
Although self-service laundromats are a less common site in Medellin, they still exist. This style of washing, where you just pay to use the machines and clean your own clothes, is actually the same price as getting someone to do it for you.
However, if you prefer to sort through your own dirty underwear and have things done your way, this might be perfect for you.
I’ve had my fair share of laundry service mishaps while traveling, so I’m excited by this emerging trend of self-service laundry cafes.
Laundry Cafe Medellín
Here you can use one of their state-of-the-art machines to wash your clothes yourself. The drums are quite big, holding 22 lbs of clothes. Washes take 40 minutes, so you might as well get comfy while you wait.
Laundry Cafe Medellín is the perfect place to do so. With coffee, cakes, wifi, phone charging ports, and chilled music, the time will fly by!
And you don’t have to worry about hauling around detergent in your backpack because soap is included in the washing cost.
Get your clothes sparkly clean without even leaving the house with their speedy dry cleaning and delivery service.
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9 am – 9 pm. Last wash at 7.30 pm.

Laureles is at the heart of the Medellin’s ex-pat community and a residential area for Paisas. So, naturally, more and more local businesses are beginning to cater to everyday needs like laundry.
Laureles covers a large area of the city and has quite a few laundry services. These are the best:
Lava in Happy Laundry
This convenient laundry service is for those in need of a speedy wash with their express service. For $24,000 pesos, you can get your clean, ironed, and neatly washed clothes returned to you the same day.
They also have same-day delivery options and a dry cleaning service for special items.

This family-run laundry business is incredibly efficient and friendly too! They were my go-to washing service when I lived in Laureles; I was satisfied with the result every time.
They tentatively clean everything, from rugs to shoes and bedsheets. All colors are separated, and clothes are returned fresh and neatly folded. Their competitive prices set them apart from other laundry services.
Laundry is priced by weight at just $6,000 pesos per kilo!
If you’ve yet to get that spaghetti stain out of your favorite top –– look no further! This Estadio laundry service specializes in treating damaged or stained clothes. Now I can’t promise miracles, but they’ll return your clothes to you as clean as possible.
Their standard wash service takes as little as 5 hours. You can receive your clean clothes back the same day. They charge $10,000 pesos for a regular wash and $20,000 pesos for a wash and dry.

Poblado is one of the more central neighborhoods in Medellin. And although it’s known for also being the priciest, it has some pretty affordable laundry options.
Beer & Laundry
Put your feet up and enjoy a beer while you wait for your clothes to be washed. The couple that run the service are delicate with your clothes and have different drying methods to ensure absolutely no shrinkage!
It has a very homey vibe; you may feel like you’re back home getting your laundry done at your parent’s house.
Your load will be priced by weight, with the first few kilos being $21,000 pesos. After that, every subsequent kilo is $7000 extra.
There’s more to Provenza than partying and eating out. From co-working spaces to laundry services, you can find a range of businesses designed to make your life easier. Here are the top places to get your clothes washed in Provenza.
Espuma Laundry Provenza
Espuma was created by locals looking to take the monotony out of laundry day. No more counting down the minutes till collection time. Instead, have a coffee or snack and listen to some music while you wait.
Originally started in Envigado, Espuma now has a brand new Provenza site! The upstairs seating area is perfect for those who want to get some work done over a smoothie or just chill out.
My top tip is to visit Espuma when you’re about to go on a trip, as they fold your clothes so neatly you can put them straight into your suitcase.

With super speedy 3 hours turnarounds, squeaky clean clothes, and staff that speak German and English, this may be one of the best laundry services in Medellin!
The location is also central and convenient. Stinky’s laundry is right in the middle of all the action on Poblado’s calle 10. Their excellent customer service and tight punctuality mean getting your clothes washed is a stress-free experience.
So you won’t have to worry about shrinking jeans or disappearing items.
The price is also super competitive at $5,900 pesos for 1 kilo.
