The Best Places for a Graduation Party in Medellin

TLDR? Carmen is the best place for a graduation party in Medellin.

If you’re about to finish a Spanish course in Medellin or are going through the final stretch of a university degree, it’s time to celebrate.

Now, I’m a fan of a good party, and what better excuse to celebrate than finishing your first semester studying at the University of Antioquia?

Ready to check out some of the top places to celebrate your achievement? Here are the best places for a graduation party in Medellin.

Carmen

This restaurant is one of the swankiest places in Medellin, featuring classy wooden accents and gourmet Colombian food with a contemporary twist.

The meals here take your everyday Colombian food and step them up to a whole new level. If you’re wanting to wow your new paisa friends, this is definitely the place to go.

On top of that, Carmen has some amazing craft cocktails. Pair that with the live music they host on the weekends and you’ve got a top-notch graduation party on your hands!

The place is located in the El Poblado neighborhood, which puts it pretty much at the center of the action in Medellin. Book a table and get ready to celebrate in style!

Angus Brangus has pretty much any type of food you could image, all gourmet twists on Colombian meals. They’ve also got some great wines.

What’s cool is that there are four different event rooms in the restaurant. You can choose from hip, modern dining rooms to cozy and romantic places.

Angus Brangus has a few food and beverage packages for you to pick from if you want to hold an event. Everything comes included, as does planning assistance, so that you can hold a good party.

In other words, if you’re wanting an upscale graduation party, this is a good place to go.

Chuscalito

This traditional-style restaurant is located on Avenida Las Palmas, in the upper part of El Poblado. The restaurant looks like a traditional paisa house with wood finishes and colonial-style furnishings..

The menu is very extensive, but the beset items are the traditional empanadas, chorizos, and pandebonos.

Chuscalito offers catering and decoration so that you don’t have to worry about that stuff when planning your party. Just book a table and show up!

Al Patio Restaurant

Al Patio is a restaurant bar specializing in weddings, birthday parties, graduations, and corporate dinners.

As with so many of the other places on this list, it’s located up on Avenida Las Palmas. That’ makes it super close to a ton of different Casacol properties, such as Energy Living!

The top picks on the menu have to be the carpaccios with the sangria. The raw meats paired with the wine is such a classy choice, and they’re all excellently prepared.

Besides the great food Al Patio was awarded best pastry chef, best chef, and best gastronomic entrepreneur in 2021. I’d say that’s a good reason to book a table there for your next party!

Le Parch

Le Parch has great views of the city, thanks to its location high up in the hills of Santa Elena. You’re probably familiar with the flower farms in the area, but there are also some good restaurants, too!

Le Parch isn’t going to be a showstopper in terms of decor. It’s a pretty basic, bare-bones type of place.

But, you can bring your own decorations to brighten it up a bit.

Besides all that, the food is excellent too. They make a mean mojito and have some great chicharrón dishes for you to try.

However, what really makes it shine is the live music on the weekends. Be sure to plan your party for a Friday or Saturday night so you can make the most of your party!

Herbario Restaurante

The menu is made up of a mix of Colombian food and international cuisine, all with a gourmet twist.

For instance, you’ll find cayeye on the menu, a traditional dish from the coast. However, they mix it with tasty French cheeses and chontaduro fruits to create something you won’t get anywhere else!

In terms of where to host your party, the restaurant has a special “Social Herbarium” packages which you can use for events such as weddings, birthdays, bachelor parties, and personalized graduation parties.

Not only do you get the space to yourself, but you also get an amazing menu with dishes such as ceviche, pork belly, craft cocktails, and wines.

This restaurant serves up a Peruvian and Japanese hybrid menu. This Nikkei restaurant has four locations in Medellín: three in the south (El Poblado, Envigado) and one in the Laureles sector

In other words, there’s one close to home no matter where you’re staying!

If you like seafood, then this is the place for you. They’ve got some great sushi, as well as good sashimi appetizers.

Probably the coolest thing about this restaurant, however, is that they offer home catering. If you’d rather celebrate with a small, intimate meal in your apartment, the restaurant can get you hooked up with gourmet sushi to do so!
