Whether you’re one of the people who can’t get enough of laying on the tanning bed or, like me, you’re cursed with eternally pale skin, this list is for you.

I’ve put together a list of the best spots for tanning in Medellin so that you can get your summer glow on! 

Sol y Color Belleza Corporal

One of the best tanning places in Medellin is Sol y Color Spa. The company has more than eight years of experience and has been helping patients get gorgeous skin for years. 

They’re conveniently located in the Manila neighborhood of El Poblado, too, so they’re pretty central. 

In terms of what to expect, these guys are real experts in tanning. 

In fact, they’re experts in skincare in general.

You can get some fantastic facials at the place after your tan is done, which will leave you feeling even fresher. 

In terms of the tan, the staff is awesome about helping you pick out a good tanning lotion. They’ve got great recommendations and the lotions are pretty cheap, so you won’t be spending tons of money on a session here.

Soler

At Soler, you can choose from a few different ways to get the tan you need. 

Soler is a chain of wellness and health centers (IPS) enabled and supervised by the health department of Antioquia and Cundinamarca. 

Through the latest technology in photobiostimulation or “cold laser” this spa prevents and combats Vitamin D deficiency by improving people’s health .

The team’s specialty is providing services in UV Blue light therapy chambers, and Red Led light.

These are some pretty high-tech ways to get your golden glow on, and are definitely worth looking into if you want a more holistic and skin-friendly way to achieve your tan.

Another place that sits at the top of our list is Amatsu Spa, which helps you get a spectacular golden color.

I can’t talk about places to go tanning in Medellin without throwing in a few Laureles locations. 

Sure, I might be more of a Poblado girl, but that’s not to say there aren’t great places in Laureles as well. 

One of them is La Piel Spa. La Piel Spa offers airbrush tanning, the ideal technique to achieve a 100% natural tan skin tone instantly (yes, I mean instantly). 

There’s no risk of damaging your skin, either, which is why it’s a win-win for most people looking to get their tan on. 

If you want to speak to a nutritionist, get in shape, or lose some weight, La Piel Spa also has these services. It’s a nice way to learn a bit more about how to get your bikini body on for the summer.

Piel y Color

Piel y Color feels a bit more like going to a dermatologist’s office than like going to the tanning salon. All of the staff are super knowledgeable and are very careful about preventing UV overexposure. 

Piel y Color is also cool because they give you a throw-away bathing suit to use during your session. 

I personally love this because I hate washing the tanning lotion off my bikini after laying down for a session. 

Another perk of Piel y Color is that they’ve got a number of packages. You can book sessions in monthly packages, weekly, or even yearly packages. 

In terms of the tanning beds, they have both horizontal and vertical beds. You can pick whichever you feel more comfortable with. 

Best of all, they have friend discounts! If you’ve got a buddy who’s interested in getting tan, be sure to look into the discount – you could both save quite a chunk of change.

If you haven’t gone tanning before, Sun Tanning House is honestly a good place to start. Not only are they just an easy-going staff, but they walk you through the entire process. 

Now, while I’ve certainly gone tanning before, I won’t act like I got 5 days a week or anything. I still get nervous going into a new place so for me, this really made me feel comfortable. 

There are two types of tanning beds at Sun Tanning House. One is the horizontal bed, in which you’re lying down. 

You feel like you’re on the beach!

The second type is the vertical chamber, in which you’re standing up during the tanning process. I like this style better since I feel like I can escape if anything goes awry. 

They have tons of packages, and the more sessions you buy, the lower the price per session is. In fact, with their biggest package you can pay right around a dollar or two to get tan!

Sun Set Tanning

Last but not least, Sun Set Tanning has tanning and collagen chambers, both of which will help you get that tan color that you like so much without doing too much damage to your skin. 

What I actually love about Sun Set Tanning is that they don’t just have UV chambers. They also have air brush (eh-hem spray tans) options as well.

Now, if you’re like me and turn red in 0.2 seconds in the sun, this is the way to go. You can get a gorgeous golden glow without risking coming out the door of the tanning bed looking red as a lobster. 

The airbrush tans last about 15 days, which is enough for your next weekend getaway out of the city. 

Or, you can book a full package that gets you a session in each of the tanning chambers. You’ll get a spray tan to keep you glowing while the results of your UV and collagen sessions kick in!
