When I first arrived in Remedios, I was surprised to see a lot of locals and tourists alike gathering in the early evening at the town’s bars and clubs.
Despite the town’s small population of just over 30,000 inhabitants, the nightlife usually gets very busy on the weekends. All you need to do is go to the “Zona Rosa,” a street where you can find bars and clubs to have a drink or show off your best moves on the dance floor.
Sound like something up your alley? Then let me walk you through the best bars and clubs of Remedios!
Maria Palitos is one of the best and biggest nightclubs in Remedios, serving drinks such as:
Locals often gather here to watch football matches while enjoying a drink, but it’s also a great sport for tourists to have some fun spending the night in Remedios. Don’t forget to order picada or appetizers to accompany your drinks!
The bar puts on live music shows from time to time – when I visited, I saw a guitarist trio who sang ranchera and corridos music.
Overall, Maria Palitos is a wonderful spot to listen to some crossover music, (a combination of two musical styles), sing some karaoke, or sip a cold drink while relaxing in the club’s outside seating.

Licorera Bariloche is a small alcohol shop where you can find great liquors at even better prices. The store also sells drinks in bulk in case you want to imbibe them in the comfort of your hotel or Airbnb.
There are only two outdoor tables available to sit and enjoy your drink, but you can usually find some chairs on the sidewalk. The atmosphere is very small-town and welcoming in case you’re looking for some locals to chat with!

Check out the Palma Bahia bar if Maria Palitos or Licorera Bariloche is too crowded!
The bar has a jukebox that’ll make you feel like you’re in an old movie – just feed it a few coins and pick the song of your choosing.
If you’re in the mood to party, ask for a giraffe or jirafa, a two-foot tall beer cup.
The dance floor may be small, but that won’t stop you from having a good time!

La Colonia is located on the second floor of a small house and specializes in cocktails of all kinds. I highly recommend you try the piña colada.
Liqueurs of national and international stature are also available, so if you’re tired of drinking Colombian beer like Poker Aguila, try out some German or Irish beer instead.
The dancefloor is the perfect place to meet and interact with the locals, or grab a seat and listen to some crossover music with a beer in hand.

You find La Empalizada Fonda Bar in front of Santa Barbara Park, a place designed for visitors to spend the afternoon drinking with friends while watching the sunset fall across the village.
This bar is another spot locals love to spend the afternoon watching a football game or sipping on a cool drink away from the heat of the village.
This traditional restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere for visitors with kids, and the balcony overlooking Remedios is perfect for lunch or a few specialty cocktails.
Although La Empalizada doesn’t have a very large dancefloor, locals always end up clearing a small space between the tables to get their groove on.

You’ll find this popular bar in front of Remedios’s main park. Spend the day chatting or playing board games while enjoying all kinds of spirits or other non-alcoholic drinks.
I also recommend taking advantage of the park for a night walk before heading home.

Now that you’ve heard all about the great places to have fun in Remedios, all you need to do is pick the one best suited to you, and enjoy a cold drink while doing some people-watching!
