Pampered in Poblado: The Top Nail Salons in Poblado, Medellin

TLDR? Violeta Nails Spa is one of the best nail salons in El Poblado.

In fact, beautiful, trimmed, and manicured nails can actually make us feel better, stronger, and more optimistic. 

Yes, you heard me right – getting our nails done can give us the same energy as a nutritious breakfast and it can have the same impact on our mood as a haircut or a new look.

Hands and first impressions go hand in hand. When attending job interviews or meeting new people, we must have well-groomed hydrated hands and pretty nails.

So, whether you’re tidying up your nails for a big interview or you just want to be the best dressed in town, this guide is for you. Here’s a look at the top nail salons in Poblado. 

1. Violeta Nails Spa

This spa is tucked away in cozy Manila, and is a place that I personally have come back to time and time again. 

No, really, and I’ll tell you why. 

Violeta is one of the few nail salons I’ve found that offers dip powder nails. The way it works is that they dip your nails into acrylic powder so that it creates a hard, clear coat on your nails. 

Then, they add whatever design you want on top in gel polish. The nails come out looking so much more natural than classic acrylics do, and the designs are all included. 

Of course, if you want, you can always go for the regular acrylics or a standard manicure. But, I’ve got to recommend the dip powder nails. They’re definitely worth the money.

Super Wow!

I typically dislike nail salons in malls. I just find that they’re not as ambient and that the techs seem to be hired for low wages and are literally just racing to get home. 

That’s not the case at Super Wow. 

Even though it’s a nail salon in El Tesoro Mall, they’re a really nice spa. 

They’ve got tons of stations, so you pretty much never have to wait for your appointment. Just walk in and someone will be able to take care of you. 

They run regular discounts, and you can pretty much guarantee there will be a promotion on when you get there, which is awesome if you want to save a bit of cash. 

In terms of the services, there are a lot. Like Violeta, they offer dip powder, but they’re much thicker and look similar to acrylics. I’d recommend going with a straight gel polish here.

Praga Salon

Praga Salon has three locations, one in Cali, one in Bogotá and one here in Medellin. Either way, they’ve been open for about 6 years and have got a pretty good grasp on nails. 

I actually stumbled across Praga when I was looking to get my hair colored. These guys are experts in color and hair styling. 

However, they also offer some cute nails. 

If you’re wanting to get your hair done and treat yourself to a manicure at the same time, this is a good place to go. 

Just bear in mind that their services or pretty basic: you can get a classic manicure or a gel manicure and that’s it. 

Still, it’s still nice to get your nails touched up while you’re at the salon anyway!

Nails Garden

Nails Garden is a place where you genuinely feel like you’re pampering yourself. The space is gorgeous, with pink and gold accents. 

They can do literally any design you ask for, and they have some really cool inspiration on their Instagram page. 

At Nails Garden you can get pedicures, manicures, acrylics, gel polish, and nail art. 

Just make sure you book an appointment. They’re pretty centrally located in the popular Provenza neighborhood, so they get busy easily. 

Oh, and another thing. They’re used to taking care of foreigners. If you’re just starting to learn Spanish and are nervous about the language barrier, this is a great place to go.

Ohlala Beauty Studio

I spend a lot of time on Instagram, which is how I stumbled across Ohlala Beauty. 

This spot is located a little bit to the north of the hip Parque Lleras district, so it’s probably not the first spot on your radar in terms of salons. 

But, that’s not to say it’s not worth checking out. In fact, it’s very much the opposite. 

Ohlala is a place that has a ton of different beauty services, not just nails. They’ve got haircuts and colors, waxing, makeup, and eyelashes. 

What I really love about this place though is the service. 

While you’re getting your nails done they’ll treat you to a cappuccino or a cup of hot tea. For me, that’s what really put this place on the map!

They also offer great acrylic and gel nail designs. You can choose whatever design you want on your nails without paying extra for it.

Pragaty Salón

Pragaty Salón is a full service place, which means you’re going to get a whole lot more than nails here. 

In fact, nails aren’t even the main thing they offer. What this salon specializes in is balayages. 

However, I’d still check out their nails, especially if you’re headed there for a haircut anyway. They do a great job with gel polish, although you’re welcome to go for acrylics or a classic manicure too. 

Whatever you choose, it’s a classy place with pretty fast service. Just note that you won’t be able to get a pedicure there – they typically focus on hands only.

Cristina Sierra Nail

Cristina Sierra Nail has a couple of locations, including one in Poblado and one across the way in Laureles. 

Regardless of which one you go to, the service is the same. 

Cristian Sierra Nail is well-known for bright, colorful nail designs. Of course, you can ask for anything you like, but if you love rainbow colors, this is the place for you. 

They offer classic mani-pedis, acrylics, gel nails, and pedicures at their salon. And, you can pick your service accompanied by a cozy cup of tea or coffee. 

They’re a nice salon to check out in Poblado, and even though they’re not my favorite, they’ve got good service and are worth a visit.
