If you’re missing your favorite fast food joints from back home and wondering where to find the best burger in Medellin, there’s a bevy of burger joints that will more than cure your cravings for comfort food.
There are so many places in Medellin with burgers on the menu that it’s a thankless task trying to keep the list to a manageable length so we’ve stuck to a list of specialists here.

Paradise for burger lovers, Chef Burger, first arrived to shake up the Medellin burger scene in 2011 with a focus on gourmet burgers in trendy locations.
They’ve got some exotic combinations, some of which shouldn’t be allowed (pineapple… please!), but this chain gets the burger basics spot on and doubles down with tip-top trimmings.
With 11 venues across the city, Chef Burger pops up in most of the exclusive malls in Medellin as well as a couple of flagship restaurants in Poblado and Laureles.
We’re always a little partial to the Sailor Jerry, served in an artisanal bun, with Philly cheese, caramelized onions, and bacon bathed in a BBQ sauce made with Sailor Jerry rum. It goes great with potato wedges and a Tres Cordilleras Mestiza beer.
The juicy burgers come stacked to the roof at this popular rock-themed hangout for hungry Medellin’s locals.
This spot is flipping burgers in four hotspots in Laureles, Poblado and Manila, and Envigado. Barbacoa Burger & Beer loves alliteration, and their rock and roll music challenges its fans to go large or stay home.
Some of Barbacoa’s more adventurous mixes involve heaping on the ingredients until you beg for mercy. Molotov is a Mexican monster with guacamole and jalapeños or there’s a fearsome Argentine meat fest with chorizo, chimichurri, roasted peppers, and steak.

Play it simple with La Buena, a beautifully balanced 150 gr burger with cheese or the blue portobello is a beast with a capital B. Beef, bacon, blue cheese, a portobello mushroom, onions, lettuce, and tomato with fries and a beer.
The Grill Station’s Angus Master was awarded the prize of the city’s best burger when its inhabitants were allowed out to vote on their favorite burger in 2019. It’s still living up to its billing.

This sassy newcomer to the Medellin burger scene doesn’t have a place, as such, but has found a home in the heart of the city’s skateboarders and burger and milkshake connoisseurs during the pandemic.

This popular “dark kitchen” shuns gourmet distractions on the menu, just classic smash burgers with the option of cheese or bacon stacked as high as you can go.
There are a couple of fried chicken options and a veggie option to keep their Gen Z fans happy. They work with Instagram and deliver via Colombia’s super app Rappi.
