In life, some things are unavoidable necessities, and laundry is one of them.
When arriving in a new city, finding somewhere to wash your clothes can be a bit tricky at first. It’s a tedious but crucial logistical detail that may have been overlooked in your travel planning.
But not to worry, I’ve got you covered. Medellin has many places where you can get your clothes clean and fresh, and I’m going to tell you where!
The most convenient option may be right under your nose. Some Hostels and hotels throughout the city offer laundry and dry cleaning services. This is the most affordable option for many travelers, as the services are usually quite cheap.
However, in my experience, hostels tend to just throw all the clothes in one wash without separating the colors. This technique has ruined some of my clothes on a few occasions, so proceed with caution!
The fancier hotels may offer a quality dry cleaning service, whereas it’s common for Airbnbs to have a laundry delivery service. However, this would come at an extra cost.
Reach out to your accommodation and find out if they provide any of these services, as it may be the easier route to take.
Although self-service laundromats are a less common site in Medellin, they still exist. This style of washing, where you just pay to use the machines and clean your own clothes, is actually the same price as getting someone to do it for you.
However, if you prefer to sort through your own dirty underwear and have things done your way, this might be perfect for you.
I’ve had my fair share of laundry service mishaps while traveling, so I’m excited by this emerging trend of self-service laundry cafes.
Here you can use one of their state-of-the-art machines to wash your clothes yourself. The drums are quite big, holding 22 lbs of clothes. Washes take 40 minutes, so you might as well get comfy while you wait.
Laundry Cafe Medellín is the perfect place to do so. With coffee, cakes, wifi, phone charging ports, and chilled music, the time will fly by!
And you don’t have to worry about hauling around detergent in your backpack because soap is included in the washing cost.
Get your clothes sparkly clean without even leaving the house with their speedy dry cleaning and delivery service.
