TLDR? Landmark is one of the best gay-friendly hotels in Medellín.
Did you know that Medellin is one of the most gay-friendly cities out there? Not only do they celebrate gay pride every year, but they’ve got a bustling gay nightlife scene as well.
Still, that’s not to say that those of us in the LGBTQ+ community haven’t had our fair share of unpleasant experiences while traveling.
If you’re looking to find a place that’s inclusive and welcoming to stay in the city, I’ve got you covered. Here are several LGBTQ+ hotels in Medellin that are great places to stay.
Colombia has advanced over the years to accept the LGBTQ+ community. Despite being a largely catholic country, you’ll find people are generally accepting of people in the gay community.
Medellin especially welcomes queer folks with open arms. And, thanks to the fact that paisas are notoriously friendly and tolerant, it’s a great place to stay in Medellin.
Still, if you want to find places that you can be confident are inclusive, there are a couple of tips you can implement to help you find a great place. A few of these include:
Let’s take a closer look at each of these tips.
The first thing to look for when hunting down a place to stay as a gay couple is the location. In Medellin, I’d recommend checking out El Poblado.
Not only is El Poblado one of the best gay-friendly areas of the city, but it’s also known as being a meeting point for the LGBTQ+ community between its famous parks, El Poblado park and Parque Lleras.
Here you’ll have no problem walking around as a gay couple, or being treated as you should no matter what you’re doing.
Another thing I recommend to gay couples on the go is to look at what’s around you. If you’re after gay nightlife, look for an area that has plenty of gay-friendly places to hang out.
Once again, Parque Lleras and Parque El Poblado are two places where LGBTQI+ nightlife abounds. Plus, you’ll find some of the best bars, restaurants, and shops in the area.
Here are a couple of gay bars nearby that you might want to swing by,
With its motto “Aquí entran todos” (here everyone enters), you know this is a place that’s welcoming to everyone.

The last piece of advice I can offer to LGBTQI+ couples visiting Medellin is to read the reviews. The reviews can tell you a lot about the attitudes toward gay couples in the hotel.
I typically check to see how accommodating the staff is, whether or not they make you feel welcomed, and whether they make sure gay couples have rooms with a single bed vs two beds.
Casacol goes above and beyond in this aspect because they have a whole blog for you to check out!
