Orégano Restaurante Bar

The views from this restaurant are breathtaking! No matter which table you choose, you’ll get a good view of the lake.

On their gourmet menu, you’ll find unique items squid as well as some more mild foods such as pasta and risotto. 

Personally, I think the bandeja paisa here is a must-try. Not only is it delicious, but it’s a classic Colombian dish that you have to have at least once while visiting Medellin.

The restaurant has some fantastic cocktails, too. Pick one to pair with your meal and treat yourself to a bit of rest and relaxation after hiking around the area all morning!

Casa Cuba

This is a very vibrant place with a good view of the lake. 

The food here is Cuban, and the menu has tons of traditional dishes that you can try. 

One of the best things to try at the restaurant would have to be the sandwiches. They’re made out of delicious, buttery pieces of bread stuffed with meat and cheese.

For those who are visiting during the evening, you can also enjoy live music and drinks at Casa Cuba. 

Just get ready to move your feet, as Cuban style music is very lively!

Kaffa Café Bar

We all know that Colombia is famous for its coffee. And in fact, Guatapé has a place dedicated to our favorite hot drink.

A five-minute walk from the lake, in the Plazoleta de los Zócalos, Kaffa is a simple and perfect place to calm a craving for a good cafesito.

Kaffa Café Bar specializes in making different coffee drinks, and the latte art on their cappuccinos are super cute, too. 

You can also enjoy desserts here, including ice cream and artisan cakes. I made a DIY affogato by ordering a scoop of ice cream and an espresso shot. 

It was the perfect way to cool off after the big hikes in the area!

Pizzería de Luigi

Pizzería de Luigi is the place for pizza lovers visiting Guatapé. It’s a rustic restaurant located in the Vereda La Peña de Guatapé. 

The place is ideal for a romantic dinner with your partner or a fun night with friends.

The restaurant has a wide variety of pizzas for you to choose from, including different types of meats, classic Hawaiian pizza, and even a vegetarian artichoke pizza.

I recommend pairing your pizza with one of their wines. They have a pretty extensive list, and can offer recommendations if you’re unsure of where to start.

Thai Terrace is the best place for Thai food in Guatapé. It has a lovely balcony with a good view of the lake, so you can enjoy your dinner with a view.

They’re a good option for vegetarians, too, because most dishes don’t actually include meat. 

If you’re traveling with picky eaters, there are also Colombian options on the menu. In other words, there’s something for everyone.

If you crave Colombian food, this is the place to go.

La Fogata is a modest and simple restaurant that has a Colombian style. Still, the food is absolutely delicious!

It’s perfect for lunch and offers different types of meats and delicious arepas accompanying it. Many Colombian foods go perfectly with beer; you should have a drink with your lunch!

The lake is just across the street, so you’ll have a close view while enjoying good food.

Asia is in the house! Koi Cocina Asiática is a place where you can eat all the sushi, noodles, and other Asian food you live. 

Another gourmet restaurant in the town, this restaurant brings rich and elegant dishes with Asian recipes to your table. 

If you’re a vegan or vegetarian I recommend you try the Koi salad. There are tons of other meat-free options, too, but this one is particularly delicious.

Pair it with an Asian beer and finish off with one of their typical desserts for a winning meal!
