If you are looking for a place to get some work done and enjoy a delicious meal, then Salento is the perfect destination for you. Plus, if a big part of your content is food-related, then you will have no shortage of material to work with while you are here.

Lastly, the wildlife is really incredible. More than likely, you have already had a plan to explore the nearby Cocora Valley and see the Wax palms. But, you might not know that Salento is also home to a variety of other animals like sloths, Yellow-eared parrots, and the Andean Condor.

The Best Wifi Spots for Digital Nomads in Salento

Every digital nomad needs WIFI in order to upload their content, work on their projects, and stay connected with the outside world.

If you are from the United States or Somewhere in Europe, then WIFI is pretty much a guarantee. But, in smaller pueblos like Salento, finding a good signal can be a little more tricky.

And if a place does have WIFI, the signal may give out, or the upload speed could be at a sloth pace. However, like small towns like Jardin, there are places for digital nomads to get some quality WIFI signal.

That’s why we have put together a list of the best places to get WIFI in Salento, so you can choose the perfect spot to set up your laptop and get to work.

Café Jesús Martín

Café Jesús Martín

First on our list is Café Jesús Martín. This cafe is a few steps from the Plaza de Bolívar Salento.

It has a strong WIFI connection with a great breakfast if you are hungry. In the middle of the cafe is an open patio where you can enjoy the sun.

One thing to note is to make sure your computer is charged before you come. It was tricky finding a spot where an outlet was close by.

Since a majority of the patio tables are in the middle, they are far from a wall. So, if you are looking to put in several hours of work, make sure you come prepared.

All in all, Café Jesús Martín is great for getting some work done with a good WIFI connection and tasty food options.

Café Quindío

Café Quindío

If you want to be in the middle of the action in the plaza, then Café Quindío is the place for you.

This narrow cafe has limited seating, but the WIFI is free. In addition, since the tables are set against the wall, outlets are readily available.

There are tables outside if you want to enjoy the weather. But, keep in mind that the WIFI signal is not as strong outside, so it may be better to snag a seat inside.

Café Quindío doesn’t have a restaurant menu. Instead, you can enjoy a good chai tea with a pastry or empanada.

Overall, this is a great spot to get some work done with decent WIFI and easy access to outlets.

Eclipse Coffee Salento

It may be last on the list, but Eclipse Coffee Salento is definitely not the least. In fact, this place has some of the best WIFI in all of Salento.

The upload and download speeds aren’t Medellin fast, but they are still really good.

The cafe is on the second floor and has a beautiful balcony that overlooks the plaza. This is the perfect spot for you if you want to get some work done outside.

Below is Brunch Salento, which we highly recommend eating at. The food is really good, reasonably priced, and has huge portions.

To get to the cafe, you have to walk through Brunch Salento and up a set of stairs. Once you are there, you can order your drink and find a seat.

Overall, Eclipse Coffee Salento has excellent WIFI, a great location, and tasty food options.

Do Hotels and Hostels Have Good Wifi in Salento?

Do Hotels and Hostels Have Good Wifi in Salento?

Good Wifi signals can always be hit or miss in hotels and hostels.

We’ve found that hotels typically have better WIFI than hotels. But, it really varies from place to place.

The best way to find out is to ask the staff or other guests about their experience with the WIFI signal in the hotel or hostel.

If you are staying at a hotel or hostel, we recommend that you always have a backup plan.

For example, you can download any work you need to do offline so you can still get work done even if the WIFI is bad.

Or, you can venture out to one of the cafes or restaurants on this list to take advantage of their strong WIFI signal.

Do You Need a VPN for Salento?

Do You Need a VPN for Salento?

No matter what country you are in, we always recommend using a VPN.

A VPN is a Virtual Private Network that encrypts your internet connection. This is important because it helps to keep your data safe from hackers.

In addition, a VPN allows you to access websites and content that may be blocked in your country.

For example, if you are trying to access a website from Salento that is only available in the United States, you can use a VPN to connect to a server in the US and access the site.

We recommend using ExpressVPN because it is one of the market’s fastest and most reliable VPNs.

Plus, it is really easy to use. All you have to do is download the app, choose a server location, and connect.

Plus, you can usually get a free trial or money-back guarantee so you can try it out risk-free.

Can You Use a Wifi Hotspot in Salento?

If you need a stronger WIFI signal, then you may want to consider using a wifi hotspot.

A wifi hotspot is a small device that creates a WIFI network. You can then connect your devices to the hotspot to get a stronger and more reliable WIFI signal.

One of the best things about wifi hotspots is that you can take them with you anywhere you go. So, if you are going to be traveling around Salento, a hotspot can be really useful.

The downside is that they can be a bit expensive. But, if you plan on being in Salento for a long time or need a strong WIFI signal for work, then it may be worth the investment.

Most cell providers offer plans that include a wifi hotspot. So, if you have a phone plan with one of the major cell providers, then you may already have a hotspot included in your plan.

However, the hotspot on your phone is only as good as your cell service. In Salento, Verizon or T-mobile usually have the best coverage.

You can always buy a portable wifi hotspot if you don’t have cell service with one of these providers.

Get Your Work Done When Visiting Salento

While there aren’t numerous Wifi spots for digital nomads in Salento, there are enough to get some work done.

We recommend trying out a few of the spots on this list to find the one that works best for you.

And, don’t forget to always have a backup plan. Whether that’s downloading work offline or using your phone’s hotspot, it’s always good to have a plan B.
