Frequently Asked Questions about El Poblado Units
What is included in the monthly rental price?
All of our furnished apartment rentals include high-speed internet, the building administration fee, and utilities up to a defined monthly allowance based on the size of the apartment. The apartment is also fully furnished and equipped with appliances, kitchenware, linens, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. If utility consumption exceeds the established allowance, the excess amount will be charged separately according to the rental agreement.
Are utilities included in the rent?
Yes. All of our furnished apartment rentals include utilities up to a defined monthly allowance, which is established according to the size of the apartment. This includes basic services such as electricity, water, and gas. High-speed internet and the building administration fee are also included in the monthly rental price. If the utility consumption exceeds the established allowance, the excess amount will be charged separately according to the rental agreement.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes. A refundable security deposit is required for all apartment rentals. This deposit is used to cover possible damages, missing inventory items, excessive cleaning, or utility overconsumption exceeding the monthly allowance established in the rental agreement.
When is the security deposit returned?
Casacol has up to 45 days after check-out to process the security deposit refund. This period allows us to carefully inspect the apartment, verify the inventory, review any possible damages, and wait for the final utility bill to confirm whether there was any overconsumption.
If you need the security deposit to be refunded within the first 5 days after check-out, an early refund processing fee of USD 80 will apply. This fee is non-refundable.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept different payment methods depending on your location and banking options. If you have a U.S. bank account, you may pay by Zelle. We also accept traditional bank transfers from other banks to our U.S. bank account; please note that this option has a USD 35 bank fee charged by your bank. Payments in Colombian pesos can also be made by bank transfer to our Banco de Bogotá account.
Can I pay in cash or by credit card?
No. For security and accounting purposes, we do not accept cash or credit card payments. All payments must be made through one of our approved bank transfer methods: Zelle for clients with a U.S. bank account, traditional bank transfer to our U.S. bank account, or transfer in Colombian pesos to our Banco de Bogotá account.
What documents are required to rent an apartment?
To rent one of our apartments, we only require a valid ID or passport and a signed rental agreement with a credit card attached as backup. Unlike many other agencies, we do not require a co-signer, bank statements, or additional financial documents.
How does the check-in process work?
Before arrival, we will provide all the necessary check-in instructions, including the apartment address, building access requirements, registration process, and key or smart lock details when applicable. Some buildings require guest information to be submitted in advance to authorize entry.
What happens if there is a maintenance issue during my stay?
If any maintenance issue comes up during your stay, our team will assist you as soon as possible. Some repairs may depend on third-party technicians, building administration, suppliers, or the apartment owner, but we will always follow up and keep you informed until the issue is resolved.
