TLDR? Medellin Pride 2022 takes place on July 3rd and involves parades, concerts, and more.
Antioquia Vive Diversa is an event celebrating diversity and in particular, the LGBTQ+ community. Like Colombiamoda and the Flower Festival, it’s an event that’s highly anticipated in the city.
Medellin Pride 2022 is right around the corner, and if you’re planning to attend, there are a few things to know.
Here’s a quick look at the Medellin Pride festival 2022 and what to expect.
Medellin Pride is an annual celebration dedicated to sexual diversity and promoting the rights of the LGBTI community.
The entire month of June is dedicated to celebrating diversity and the gay community. The month ends with an acclaimed pride parade in Medellín. This year, it will be held on July 3, 2022.
The festival consists of various activities celebrated throughout the city, including concerts, parades, and cultural activities.
There are quite a few different things you can do at Medellin pride, including talks, group camping trips, and more. Here are a couple of the things to expect this year.
This festival celebrates LGBTQ artisans, holding an outdoor market as well as group activities such as forest bathing and camping.
There are also numerous talks that you can participate in, including an upcoming talk by a gigolo held on July 1st. The event is going to be held in the Memory House Museum, one of the many museums in Medellin.
You have to sign up for the event, but it’s otherwise free to attend.
If you want to skip the street party and go to more of a formal event, you can head to the concert. The big Pride concert will be held on July 3rd, 2022 at 5:00 pm in the Sky Center.
The concert lineup includes:
There are only 2500 tickets thanks to biosecurity measures,
If you don’t want to attend the official pride festivities, you can also just have some LGBTQ+ fun of your own. Here are a few of the best gay-friendly places to go around the city.
Industry Cub is a well-known gay club where you can hear everything from DJs to classic salsa. In other words, there’s a bit of everything here.
They have regular musical shows plus just have some great dance music going on the weekends. If you’re interested in boogieing and dancing the night away, this is the place to go.

Bar Chiquita is a colorful bar serving up great cocktails, stand-up comedy, and karaoke. This is a bit more casual than Industry and has more of a theater atmosphere than a club.
They host regular drag shows here, too. So, if you love sipping on mimosas and hanging out with queens, this is a good place to go.

Located in Parque Lleras, in the renowned Zona Rosa of Medellin, Donde Aquellos is a great place to hang out. They’ve got special Pride cocktails and events going on, so it’s definitely a cool place to check out this month.
Donde Aquellos gets packed, so if you’re going in a group, you might want to make a reservation. You can book tables on their website or through their social media pages.

La Cantina de Javi has crossover music and is going to be close to the parade on July 3rd. It’s a nice place to go for a pride afterparty!
One fun thing about this place is that on Fridays, they host something called La Noche de Pollos. On these days, young people between 18 and 20 get into the club for free.

The march, or parade, is the main event when it comes to Medellin Pride. The event is put on by Alianza Social LGBTI de Antioquia every year and is a parade that makes its way around the city.
Last year, there were more than 75,000 people and more than 10,000 spectators in attendance. This year more participants are expected thanks to the loosened COVID restrictions.
The parade will be held from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on July 3, 2022, and will go from La Avenida 70 all the way to Avenida 74 in front of the Obelisco mall.
At the endpoint, there will be a street party lasting until 11:00 pm.
In terms of enjoying pride 2022, the main thing you have to do is just attend!
However, it’s important to note that since there are going to be big crowds, the risks of COVID-19 are a bit higher. The best thing to do is to wear a mask, make sure you’re vaccinated, and try to practice social distancing as much as possible.
I personally like to take a COVID test before these types of events, too. That way, I can make sure I’m doing my part and not spreading germs.
Aside from that, just head out and have fun! Of course, use your street smarts to stay safe. But otherwise, just get in the spirit and enjoy the festivities.
Medellin is proud to be an inclusive city, and this year, it’s proud to host another pride festival. Get ready to celebrate diversity and join in the upcoming festivities!
