The Flamenco Festival is an event centered around the traditional Spanish dance. In addition to live performances, guests can attend training lessons as well as visit talks and exhibitions.

But that’s not all – you may know flamenco is one of the most well-known and outstanding dances of the Iberian Peninsula, but you’ll also see flamenco instrumental presentations and theatre plays focused on the genre.
The Flamenco Festival has developed over several years in Medellín, and each yearly edition is centered around a different concept.
In 2021, the festival’s theme was “We are Still at Home,” considering that the 2020 event was held virtually after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year’s festival was a hybrid of face-to-face and virtual, providing those unable to go to performances or get to Medellin a way to connect and enjoy the Flamenco Festival.
There’s quite a bit to know about the events at the festival. Let’s take a closer look at what to know about the events last year and what to expect this year.
Last year’s inaugural event was a choreography presented virtually by Spanish teacher Mariano Cruceta.

Flamenco took over Medellín for nine days, and both paisas and visitors alike were able to delve a little deeper into Spain’s flamenco culture.
You can get some tickets for free. However, some of these tickets will cost you a couple of bucks.
This is one of the signs that Medellin is an openly artistic city that offers stages to different genres and forms of expression!
Flamenco Festival 2022 will be held between October 7th to the 21st. The theme is dancing “inside and outside.”
