The Best Places for Connecting to Wi-Fi in Jerico

The Best Places for Connecting to Wi-Fi in Jerico

TLDR? Don Rafa Cafe is the best place for connecting to Wi-Fi in Jerico!

Working is the last thing we think about when we plan our vacations. And being in a small traditional town like Jerico, it’s easy to disconnect from everything and turn off your phone for a few days.

But, what if I need to send an urgent email or deal with business matters?

Don’t worry! As a good digital nomad who spent her holidays in Jerico, I’ll tell you which are the best spots to connect to Wi-Fi in this town!

General Information on the Wi-Fi

General Information on the Wi-Fi

In addition to its picturesque appearance, Jerico’s a town with many tourist attractions and activities.

Its historical, gastronomic, and religious charms make it a preferred destination for foreigners who want to get away from the city’s noise and get to know the rural part of Colombia.

If you come from Medellin, getting to Jerico takes about four hours, so I recommend staying a few days there.

Since this is a small town, you won’t find many Wi-Fi spots. However, with the popularity and population growth (about 13,000 people), you can currently find it more than a few years ago!

However, there may not be a single signal line on your phone if you go to places far away from the town’s central park.

Instead, you can book at a hotel or Airbnb with a good network. Check hotel reviews before booking!

Weather conditions can alter the internet’s speed or cause a power outage, but in general, you shouldn’t have many problems.

If you want to listen to music or watch a movie, I recommend downloading it or buying a few days of a premium application.

Best Cafes for Connecting to Wi-Fi

Some places in the village have better signal than others, and the same happens with Wi-Fi spots. While some coffee shops or restaurants have a stable connection, others don’t offer the service.

So, before ordering a coffee, ask the waiter about internet availability and stability.

Of course, you can always choose one of the following options to connect, which are usually more stable than a hotel!

Cafe Don Rafa

Cafe Don Rafa

A cozy coffee shop that you won’t forget due to its characteristic red windows and its traditional paisa structure.

For me, Don Rafa’s the best spot in Jerico due to its stable internet connection and because they offer all kinds of coffee. You can even buy some to bring home with you!

No matter what time of the day you choose to work or how long, they offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks! I recommend their breakfast with waffles, syrup, and a small fruit bowl.

The coffee shop’s in front of the village’s central park, so it’s probably also close to your hotel.

When work’s over, I recommend you take Don Rafa’s coffee tour! In ten stages, you’ll learn a little about the history of the establishment and how they prepare their artisan coffee.

The stages are:

  1. Don Rafa’s history
  2. Sowing process
  3. Stage of the grain
  4. Harvesting
  5. Pulping
  6. Drying
  7. Threshing process
  8. Roasting
  9. Coffee tasting
  10. Preparation methods

The coffee tour includes a snack, coffee plantation visit, and lunch!

Address: Cll 6, Parque Principal.

Bendito Cafe

Bendito Cafe

A few blocks from Jerico’s central park, Bendito Cafe is another perfect place to work or enjoy the Wi-Fi network while having coffee or eating pizza on a terrace overlooking the village.

The prices are reasonable, and the place’s quiet, perfect for some important meeting or focusing on work.

I recommend their coffee with vanilla ice cream! Also, if working was longer than expected, you can have their burger and fries combo for lunch, one of the house specialties.

They also have delivery, and it’s free!

The staff is friendly and always willing to give you some advice on the town. Don’t forget to tip and ask about the fruit preserves on their shelves.

Address: Cra 4, 6-1

Cafe El Saturia

Cafe El Saturia

If you’re interested in experiencing the Antioquian coffee tour, this is the place for you.

Here you can have one (or several) types of coffee from different farms in the village. And you can even take their tour to smell and taste some of their specialties!

You can also try to make your coffee, which is a fun experience. However, if you don’t have time for that, you can also enjoy a piece of cake outdoors while enjoying the Wi-Fi.

Insider tip: Order an iced coffee!

Address: Cl. 5 #4-27.
