TLDR? Tugó is one of the best home goods stores in Medellin.
They say the home is an extension of your personality, and I can see why. There are those of us who can’t get enough of rustic cottages while others are more interested in sleek, modern abodes.
Now, if you want to make your Airbnb feel a little bit cozier by investing in some home goods and furniture, you’ll need to know where to shop.
While there are plenty of places out there, I’ve got a few home goods stores that I particularly like. Here’s a quick look at the top places to pick up home goods and decor in Medellin.
Tugó is located in the Suramericana neighborhood of Medellin and is one of the best stores for gathering ideas and inspiration for your new home away from home.
This Colombian store specializes in furniture, decoration, lighting, organization, and lifestyle items. In other words, you can find pretty much everything you need to either furnish or decorate a new apartment.
Among the items you’ll find here are:
That’s really just scraping the surface. Every corner of Tugó has model rooms where you can get an idea of what your new home might look like.
Personally, I found Tugó to be much like IKEA back home. The prices are affordable, the staff is helpful, and the variety is extensive.
If you don’t want to get off your couch, you can also order items online. The online shop also lets you personalize your furniture, picking the perfect size, color, and material for your new home (or business).

La Carpinteria is a local Paisa enterprise, which instantly gives it a place on this list. I’m all about supporting local businesses, and this is a great way to do so!
La Carpinteria is dedicated to manufacturing wooden furniture. They create gorgeous pieces that are also functional, so you can pick up some pieces for your home that fit with whatever vibe you’re going for.
Another cool thing about this place is that they don’t just sell furniture, they sell designs, too. They’ll actually help custom make furniture for you if you have a specific request that you want to put in.
When I first got here I was obsessed with finding an end table for my office. I wanted something with a drawer that fit my room.
Well, all I had to do was head down to La Carpinteria and give them a basic idea of what I wanted. They managed to whip up an affordable little end table that still sits in my home office.
If you’re just looking to pick up odds and ends, you probably don’t have to go the whole hog like I did. Instead, you can just do some online shopping and order items straight to your apartment!

Although Nascente Home is technically located in Itagui, it’s still close enough to Medellin for it to earn a place on this list. Plus, you can always take the metro down that way and save yourself some taxi fares!
Nascente means spring in Portuguese, and the team came up with the name because of the way the flowers of spring brighten up any home.
What’s cool about Nascente is that everything in the shop is super high quality. The team really cares about taking care of its customers and hooking them up with items that will last for a while.
At Nascente Home you’ll find tons of different types of furniture, including:
All their designs are what I’d call modern chic, meaning they’re sleek and classy without feeling outdated.
What’s particularly great in Nascente Home is their tableware. If you’re wanting to take home a nice gift for loved ones, you might want to consider bringing home some of their crystal glasses.
They’re seriously gorgeous and they’re something you know your loved ones will use again and again!

Another place that’s worth putting on the list is Decohouse. Decohouse is a cool one partly because there are a couple of locations.
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to head down to the south of the city, you can go to their Avenida Guayabal location.
Or, if you’d prefer to stick closer to your Poblado rental, there’s a big shop in La Candelaria that’s much more convenient.
I’d say this place is a good pick if you’re looking for home decor as opposed to home goods. They’ve got cushions, wall clocks, plant pots, cute little knick-knacks, and more.
Personally I’m a big fan of their wall art. I found a great little piece that said “act like a lady, think like a boss” here which now sits in my home office.
If you just want some fun decorations to brighten up your Airbnb, this is definitely a good shop to check out.
