The Festival de Musica Electronica Resistance 2022 is one of the most popular and respected techno and house music festivals.
This year’s line-up is on fire! After a long break due to Covid-19, Resistance returns to Colombia and promises to celebrate music, diversity, unity, and freedom.

Resistance is one of the projects of the Ultra Music Festival (UMF) organizers. And for a firm like Ultra, it would be a sin not to incorporate genres like techno and house into their scheme!
They realized that house and techno had a global impact and added Resistance to their international events calendar.
This annual festival was founded by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes in 1999. Their inspiration was Depeche Mode’s Devotional Tour after Faibish heard one of the band’s most popular albums, Ultra.
Some of the first artists to open this world-class event were Paul van Dyk, Rabbit in the Moon, Josh Wink, and DJ Baby Anne. The event was held at Collins Park, South Beach, in Miami, Florida, and was a success.
ULTRA brands have pioneered the live streaming experience with ‘ULTRA LIVE’ (with over 2.3 billion live streaming views and artist uploads since 2012) and the audio streaming platform ‘UMF RADIO’ (syndicated to FM Radio in more than 62 countries).
Slowly, the festival grew into the megahit it is now.
Resistance 2022 will go through Japan, Korea, Peru, the US, and other destinations until Medellin.
December 3rd will be the only day you’ll have the chance to enjoy the perfect line-up of artists from different electronic genres, sub-genres, and futuristic sounds. Here are some examples:

Due to the pandemic, the festival took a long break in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, we’ll finally be able to enjoy a renewed festival.
In August 2012, they partnered with Ultra Records, an electronic music record label. Also, since 2018, the festival has innovated with holographic shows.
Therefore, the festival has been home to great legends such as Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Dj Snake, The Black Eyed Peas, and more.
On the second day of the Ultra festival 2012, Madonna made a performance after the international release of her twelfth studio album.
The festival set a new record in Miami for the number of tickets sold at a single event in 2009. There is a rumor that, in 2012, the tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes.
The 2013 edition was closed by the Swedish House Mafia. That would be their last stage appearance as part of their last One Last Tour. However, they reappeared at the 2018 festival.
Resistance 2022 will be held at the Cincuentenario Stadium in commune 4, also called the Aranjuez neighborhood.
The place will be very crowded hours before the concert, so I recommend arriving earlier. The fastest way to get there is using the city’s public transport.

As always, you can also rent a car. In that case, you’ll need to look for a parking lot in advance as street parking isn’t safe. The parking lots of the Parque Explora and the Botanical Garden will be available for the festival assistants.

There are three kinds of tickets that you can purchase at variable prices depending on how early you buy them. Let’s get into each of them!
The cheapest tickets for Resistance 2022 are perfect for tight budgets. However, you must enter the festival before 3 pm, and you cannot leave the venue again unless you want to pay for the re-entry.
You get a standard spot at the concert and the entrance bracelet.
You get the same benefits as an early entry, but there’s no restriction on entry time.
You can sit closer to the stage at the preferential area with tables and waiter service to relax while enjoying the music. Also, there’s no restriction on entry time.
The stadium doors will open at 1:00 pm, so you’ll have to arrive a couple of hours in advance to get good places in the waiting line. Get ready to stand for a couple of hours.

Staying close to the concert venue is an advantage for those who want to stay late at night enjoying the rave.

Here are some artists that have already been announced as part of the line-up.
Noferini is an Italian tech and tech house DJ and producer. With his single “Push N Pull” in collaboration with Sylvia Tosun, he reached first place in Billboard Dance Club Songs.
He has been awarded twice at the Beatport Awards. In 2011, he was named the artist of the year, and in 2013 he received the Best Minimal Techno Track Award.
Noferini is now an eminence of electronic music.
Feel the rave all over your body with Paco Osuna, one of Spain’s most important producers and DJs.
Over time, he has created its musical badge, covering the purest techno sounds with its most characteristic fibers: depth, darkness, and imagination, always accentuated by its creativity and innovation.
Enjoy a different rhythm with Paul Ritch. His productions and the live action of powerful, harmonic, and deep techno with a touch of minimalism have made him recognized internationally as one of the best DJs today.
His real name is Gavin Lynch, and he’s one of the Irish DJs and producers with the most worldwide recognition. His creations demonstrate textures and different sounds.
Although many say the opposite, MATADOR doesn’t have a single techno style since his mixes are blends of different tones, genres, and subgenres of techno and house.
Michael Bibi has managed to make his style, and for this reason, he gained a lot of popularity despite being one of the youngest DJs in the history of electronic music.
His sounds move away from the traditional tech house to find their own identity both in his productions and the Solid Grooves label.
Expect to be enthralled with a sensorial show that combines various elements of architecture, sculpture, pyrotechnics, circus, and dance, world-renowned for the impressive stages that host the performance of artists who show the best of their artistic creations.
There will also be food and drink stalls, merchandising stores, and rest areas to take a break and grab a bite. Remember to accompany your alcoholic drinks with snacks and plenty of water.
There’ll be a wide variety of food stalls at the stadium outskirts. However, the prices will be significantly higher, so I recommend bringing your food such as sandwiches and snacks.
Drinks and spirits will also have high prices, so you can buy some supplies at a nearby store before arriving at the concert.
Getting a camelback to rehydrate yourself during the event is also a good idea, as you’ll be standing for a while dancing tirelessly.
Whether you want to rest your feet or hydrate, you can take advantage of the small resting spaces near the food stalls. Just make sure you keep watch on your personal belongings and have someone with you if you want to take a nap.
Also, if you drank too much and feel dizzy, you can ask the staff to call you a cab.
