If you don’t already know what E-commerce is, I’m here to explain.
Simply put, e-commerce is the exchange of transactions over the Internet. Technological advancements have changed traditional ways of buying and selling across all kinds of industries, forcing them to change with the times.
There are many different kinds of e-commerce business models, depending on product and objective.
With B2B, the supplier, the seller, and the intermediary are the ones doing business, not the final customer.
For this kind of business to occur, both parties must have an internet presence. An example for B2B is wholesale stores.
This model helps save costs and expand the business.
B2C virtual businesses are a favorite of many customers, as it is responsible for making direct contact with the individual in need of the product.
Unlike the first model, B2C allows a more personal touch with their clients, who can consult or buy from anyway.
B2C businesses build a relationship with customers, taking their tastes and preferences into account when looking for ways to improve their products.
You can usually see this in second-hand product sales. It allows small sellers wide coverage through the internet.
C2C helps the environment by encouraging the reuse of older products and selling them at affordable prices.
This model allows third-party sellers to get sales of their products through websites other than their own.
Some examples of this are Amazon or Ebay, which facilitate the purchase and sale of products from different sources.
Although Medellín still retains the traditional way of acquiring products, over time it has become an expert city in the purchase and sale of products on the Internet.
