Freedom Medellin 2022: What to Know

TLDR? Freedom Medellin 2022 will be three days of high technology, production, and art.

Freedom Medellin is the most famous underground electronic music festival in Colombia. It’s responsible for bringing together national and international artists of the genre who stand out for their music and performances.

Freedom Medellin 2022 is right around the corner! Keep on reading to know how to buy your tickets, how to prepare, and what to expect.

An Overview of Freedom Medellin 2022

An Overview of Freedom Medellin

Don’t get confused: Freedom Medellin already celebrated its first festival this year in February, which has the same name.

On August 19th, 20th, and 21st will be held the festival “In The Jungle”. It consists of three consecutive days dedicated to genres and sub-generous of the futuristic sound, such as:

  • House
  • Electro
  • Minimal
  • Breakbeat
  • Progressive
  • Ambient
  • Experimental

How to Get There

The event will be at the Botanical Garden of Medellin. To get there, I recommend you take the metro or bus. You can also rent a car – in that case, look for a parking lot in advance.

As you can imagine, the place will be crowded a few hours before the festival. Being there early will allow you to get ahead in the entrance row and find the best place to enjoy the shows.

The bus lines that leave you near the Botanical Garden of Medellin are:

  • 006
  • 023
  • 261
  • 286
  • 300

You can also take Route A of the metro to get to the Prado Station, the closest to the festival.

How to Prepare

How to Prepare

Since it’s a three-day festival, you must prepare fittingly to withstand this electric concert’s voltage.

First, of course, sleep well the day before. Accordingly, if you want more energy to enjoy the shows, maybe take a pass on the afterparties: you can still attend the official closing party after the concert if you’re a party soul.

Also, if you’ll spend three days constantly dancing and partying, I recommend you go jogging or do some cardio about two or three weeks before the event.

Nutrition and hydration are important factors before, during, and after the event to avoid health problems or unpleasant surprises that prevent you from dancing for more than 40 hours.

Make sure you feel good physically and psychologically to attend the concert.

Don’t leave your belongings unattended, and be careful with your drinks.

Here’s a list of things you should carry in your bag:

  • Enough water bottles for three days
  • Sports drinks (Try Gatorade)
  • Comfortable outfits
  • ID card or valid passport
  • Snacks, granola bars, etc
  • Cash
  • A change of clothes
  • Full cell phone battery
  • A small first aid kit

They don’t allow the entry of football team shirts or any sports-related object, but you can bring your professional camera or vapes.

Also, if you see anything suspicious, take a photo or video and report it to the staff.

Take care of your bracelet and don’t take it off for the whole weekend: if it’s damaged, you cannot re-enter the festival.

Take a Break

Take a Break

In all of Freedom Medellin’s festivals, you can find different areas to rest and eat. Here’s what you should know about it.

Resting and Hydration Places

If you danced too long or drank a little too much, this place’s meant for you to relax and recover. However, I don’t recommend that you sleep unless you have a friend to take care of you and your belongings.

You can always leave the festival for a few hours to take a break at your hotel or Airbnb. But remember to keep your bracelet!

Food Court

If you’ve run out of supplies, you can always go and get something to eat. Remember to take short lunch breaks and accompany your alcoholic drinks with something to snack.
